About the therapist

Angelika Tomkins is a BABCP accredited CBT Psychotherapist with 25 years experience in Adult Mental Health including 5 years with the Anxiety Disorders Residential Unit at the Bethlem Royal Hospital London, a National Unit for the treatment of Anxiety Disorders.

My Objectives as a Therapist include:

  • Identifying your problem and how it is maintained.
  • Identifying your values and goals, i.e. what is important to you and how you would like to achieve this.
  • Discussing the theory behind possible solutions
  • Enabling you to become your own Therapist by incorporating aspects of relapse prevention. This is an integral part of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.
  • Taking appropriate measures with your consent to aid the achievement of your goals, for example, informing relatives and those around you about ways they can help.
  • Identifying the recurring processes that your problems involve and establish the best way to break away from them.
  • Offering ongoing support, encouragement and feedback.
